Murray Richman has been admitted to the practice of law since 1964. He practices exclusively in the area of Criminal Law. He is a former President of the New York State Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers, as well as Life Member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Murray has represented numerous high profile cases as well as political personages. He is a skilled trial practitioner and enjoys the combat of a hard fought trial. He has tried to completion literally hundreds of criminal matters and has probably tried more cases than any other single practitioner in the City of New York.
Murray has been referred to in several books for his trial skills, such as “Vengeance is Mine” by Michael I. Zuckerman, “A Cold Case” by Phillip Gourevitch, “A Lawyer’s Life” by Johnnie Cochran, “25 to Life” by Judge Leslie Crocker Snyder, “Lost Light” by Dominick Dunne, “Bronx DA” by Serena Straus, “Take down: Mafia and the Trash Industry”, “Bronx Noir”, “Vinnie Gorgeous” by Anthony DeStefano and many more. He has beent he subject of many magazine articles including a 13 page profile in the New Yorker Magazine, New York Times profile, and Detail Magazine profile as well. Murray has been the subject of a “First Person” life profile by Errol Morris and the Discovery Channel. He has appeared as a commentator on many television shows and on the Johnnie Cochran show. He had regularly appeared on Court TV as a commentator.
Murray has his own radio show every Wednesday for the past 17 years, on WVOX (1460 AM), “The Don’t Worry Murray Show”. Recently Robert DiNiro purchased Murray’s life story for a television series, which is now being written. Murray has lectured extensively in the area of Criminal Law at Fordham Law School, New York Law School and Cardozo Law School. He has appeared as the keynote speaker at the American Alliance and Educational Conference for at least 20 years.
