About the Hosts

Mike Damergis

Mike Damergis is a clinical professor and graduate director for the Sports Communication & Media program in the Mass Communication Department at Iona College.

Mike will lead a team of faculty an students in hosting and producing the “Iona College Radio Hour” on WVOX in New Rochelle.

Damergis brings 30 years of broadcasting experience to the department as a sports producer, reporter and author.

Mike is currently a freelance reporter for the Fantasy Sports Network and a Sports Anchor for Fox News Headlines Radio Network.

Damergis produced and anchored “Baseball This Morning” on Sirius-XM from 2006 through 2010 and was instrumental in launching the first-ever Fantasy Sports Radio channel.

His career includes serving as the radio game-day producer for the New York Giants in 2004 and 2009.  He also was a sports talk show producer for WFAN, Fox Sports Radio and The Fan 590 in Toronto.

Mike was nominated for “Best Video of the Year” in 2014 by the Fantasy Writers Association and won Advisor of the Year for WICR in 2015 at Iona College.

Damergis is the author of “The USFL –The Rebel League The NFL Didn’t Respect But Feared.” The book was referenced in Jeff Pearlman’s “Football for a Buck: The Crazy Rise and Crazier Demise of the USFL” and Chris Walker’s “Fallen Generals: The History of the New Jersey Generals, the USFL’s Glamour Team.” Mike’s 2007 interview with former third baseman Carney Lansford was cited in K. Adam Powell’s book “Lyman Bostock: The Inspiring Life and Tragic Death of a Ball Player.”

Damergis’ recent two-part interview with former WFAN morning show host Craig Carton has over 50,000 hits on YouTube.

Giuseppe D’Aloisio

Giuseppe D’Aloisio is the Media Director for the Mass Communication Department at Iona College. In addition, he is a contributor for the Green Bay Packers’ FanSided website. Prior to that, he was an Executive weekend producer at CBS Sports Radio where, he was responsible for producing 16+ hours of sports talk radio at the national level. Mr. D’Aloisio was also the digital broadcast producer for Tiki and Tierney; a national radio show hosted by former NFL player Tiki Barber and sports personality Brandon Tierney. Prior to his time at CBS Sports Radio, Mr. D’Aloisio was an intern at WFAN, the most popular sports radio station in the United States, based on Nielsen Audio ratings.

Throughout his professional career, he has worked with prominent radio hosts including; Mike Francesa, Boomer Esiason, Jim Rome, Doug Gottlieb, Damon Amendolara and more.

He also has extensive experience with social media. While at CBS Sports Radio he managed the network’s official Twitter and Facebook account. He was responsible for posting breaking news and guest alerts.

Mr. D’Aloisio holds a Bachelor’s in Mass Communication with a concentration in Journalism from Iona College. While at Iona, he was named the Sports Editor of the student newspaper: The Ionian. In addition he was the Sports Director for W-I-C-R, Iona College’s radio station. As a result of his excellence in the classroom he was inducted in the Mass Communication Honor Society.

In December 2019, he will obtain his Master’s degree in Sports Communication and Media.
